About the Author

Laura Torres Caro is an esteemed researcher specializing in critical discourse analysis at the esteemed University of Malaga (UMA). I m doing the continuation of my research at TWU. Texas Woman University at Biology Departament, studuying between Neuroscience and Literature. Her research is based on this autobiographical novel. By sharing my story, I hope to shed light on the complexities of brain injury and inspire others facing similar challenges to persevere against all difficulties.

In addition to her scholarly pursuits, Laura is a talented writer, weaving together autobiographical narratives enriched with fictional elements that captivate readers and blur the lines between reality and imagination. Her novels offer a unique blend of personal experience and creative storytelling, inviting readers on thought-provoking journeys through the human experience.

I am an English teacher and researcher with an international academic and professional background. I hold a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education and a Master’s degree in Tourism, and I have been pursuing a PhD since 2022. My doctoral research began in Spain and is currently continuing at Texas Woman’s University (USA) as part of an international research pathway toward an international doctoral degree.

My academic work is grounded in autobiography and narrative studies, with a particular focus on Women and Gender Studies, lived experience, identity, and education. I bring professional experience from the UK, where I worked in multicultural and bilingual contexts. Additionally, my personal experience as a patient following a life-changing accident has significantly shaped my scholarly perspective, reinforcing my commitment to inclusive, reflective, and human-centered educational practices.
